Youth protection is required training for all registered adults and strongly suggested for all parents.    The course can either be taken online or in person.   The course on-line can be accessed via   Create an ID and then follow the training to Youth Protection.

Outdoor Leader Skills  for Webelos Leaders Sept 28-29

Webelos Leaders are required to attend training of outdoor skills to learn how to train cub scouts in vital outdoor skills so that they are prepared for Boy Scouts.    Participants will be camping overnight and learning basic camping and cooking skills. Any registered adult Scouter may attend. Participants will be outdoors the entire weekend and sleeping in tents. Please dress appropriately and plan for the weather. The registration fee includes program materials, Saturday Dinner and Sunday breakfast. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions. Bring a sack lunch for Saturday and please eat Saturday breakfast before arriving. Sorry, there are no provisions for children or pets.

Check in starts at 8:00 AM on Saturday and training begins promptly at 9:00 AM. The program will end Sunday at Noon. Please wear your BSA Field uniform.  Registration Form Link

Tali Atsilo outdoor skills training - October 26th

Tali Atsila (pr. Ta-lee A-chee-lah) is an Advanced Outdoor Skills Training course offered by the Northeast Georgia Council and is a training course specifically designed to take leaders through a series of hands on experiences in fundamental elements of the Outdoor Program: Cooking, Pioneering, Map & Compass, and Woods Tools, along with other outdoor skills.  Orientation & Training Session will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 and will begin promptly at 10:00 AM at the Troop 26 Scout Hut in Gainesville, GA (located behind 1st Baptist Church on Green St / Hwy 129).  Course Weekend will be held November 15-17, 2013, at Scoutland on Lake Lanier in Gainesville.

Registration fee is $72.00. Last day to register will be Saturday, October 26. Participation is limited to 24 participants due to the hands on nature of the course. The registration fee includes some meals and all program materials for the course.

 Session #1 Thursday, August 29th at the Blairsville First United Methodist Church 6:30-9:00pm
 Session #2 Thursday, September 19th at Blairsville First United Methodist Church 6:30-9:00pm  
 Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS- S-11) September 28, Check in is at Woodruff @9am and check out is 2:30pm Sunday.  

When you register, include the following information in your message:  Which course are you signing up for?  As well as the following personal information:    Name, Unit Number, Position, Street Address, Email Address, Phone Number, Emergency Contact name, number and relation.

December  - Recharter & Friends of Scouting

We will have our annual Recharter Workshop on Thursday, December 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church  It is very important that every Pack, Troop, Team, Crew, and Post send at least one adult to this meeting. At this special meeting we will pass out each units recharter, give detailed instructions on how to fill out the forms, and answer any questions.  If you cannot have an adult at this meeting please contact Daniel Victorio at 404-414-0477, to set up  another time to get your recharter packet.   More
